The National Fire Service Day was observed at the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Fire Force Headquarters, St. Inez, Panaji on 14th April 2016 to pay homage to Firemen Martyrs who have sacrificed their lives during the course of duty. The theme for the year 2016 is:

                “Prevent Fire Accident – Promote Nation’s Development”

“आग की दुर्घटनायें रोकें – देश की प्रगती में भागी बनें ”

  • On National Fire Service Day, 14th April 2016, wreaths were placed on the Firemen Martyrs’ Column by all ranks of the Fire Service Personnel.


  • A Ceremonial Parade was held at the Fire Force Training Ground, St. Inez, Panaji at 9.00 a.m. Shri Laxmikant Parsekar, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Goa was the Chief Guest, also present for the function was Shri Siddarth Kuncoliencar, Hon’ble M.L.A. of Panaji Constituency and Shri R. K. Srivastava (I.A.S.), Chief Secretary, Government of Goa was the Guest of Honor for the function.


  • Commendation Certificates to Fire Personnel were given by the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister.


  • Display of Mallakhamb Exercises and live demonstrations of Fire Fighting and Rescue operation were organized for the general public, also Exhibition of various equipments related to Fire Fighting, Search & Rescue, Swift Water/Flood Rescue, Medical First Responder(MFR), Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) and Lighting Equipments were displayed for the general public. 


  • The general public operated the Portable Fire Extinguishers on live fire under the guidance & supervision of  Fire Personnel from Training Section.     


  • During the Fire Prevention Week, a booklet on ‘Prize Winning Drawings’ of All Goa Poster Competition 2016, was released on 15th April 2016 by the hands of  Smt. Mridula Sinha, Hon’ble  Governor of Goa.


  • The 5th All Goa Quiz Competition for the High School level Students was organised  on 20th April 2016, in association with M/s. Nestle (I) Ltd. at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji.  Cash Awards and Certificates were awarded to the Winners and Participants by the hands of Shri Siddarth Kuncoliencar, Hon’ble M.L.A. of  Panaji Constituency.


  • In Keeping with tradition of donating Blood for the needy a Blood Donation Camp was  organised by the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services at Caculo Mall on 25thApril 2016 at 10:00 hrs. in association with Rotary Club of Panaji Midtown and Blood Bank – Goa Medical College, Bambolim and supported by House of Caculos.  A total 93 donors including Officers and staff of Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Rotary Club of Panaji Mid Town, Caculo Mall & Citizens Donated the Blood.Shri Siddarth Kuncoliencar, Hon’ble M.L.A. of Panaji Constituency was the Chief Guest for the function.
