PASSING OUT PARADE OF FIRE PERSONNEL HELD ON 29.08.2011

The Passing out Parade of trainees who have undergone 6 months training in Elementary Course in General Fire Fighting (Watch Room Operators and Fire Fighters of Batch No.48th and 49th) from Goa Fire and Emergency Services and Arunachal Pradesh Fire Force was held at Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, Fire Force Headquarters, St. Inez, Panaji Goa on 29.08.2011.


Shri Ashok Menon, Director, Fire and Emergency Services while addressing the trainees said that Government of India is concerned about the very high level deficiencies in the Fire and Emergency Services in the Country and recognizing the criticality of the Fire Services it has decided to revamp the Fire Services in the Country.


The Goa Fire Force Training Centre has been recognized as one of the Regional Training Centre in the Country by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The Government of India in order to strengthening the Training Centre will be releasing funds to procure various Search, Rescue and Fire Fighting Equipments required in the training Centre. This Training Centre has been imparting quality Training for the last 18 years and a total number of 21000 candidates from different parts of the Country have been trained in Fire Prevention, Fire Protection, Fire Fighting and Fire Extinction.


The present batch of 40 recruit Fire Fighters/Watch Room Operators were exposed to various theoretical and practical aspects in fire fighting, rescue techniques, first aid, fire prevention and fire protection. He advised the trainees to be dedicated and disciplined to their service and make use of this training in their place of work.

Shri Pawan Kumar Sain, IAS, Special Secretary (Home) was Chief Guest on the occasion. He congratulated the trainees and insisted that the training acquired by them should be practiced at their work place and also ensure that training is imparted to their colleagues in ensuring 100% fire safety culture and used to the maximum effect for the public at large.


A Certificate of overall 1st in the Batch was awarded to Shri Nani Komo, Best Turn-Out to Shri Pabitra Saikia and Best Discipline to Shri Miken Bam & Shri Shashi Bhushan. Shri Ajit K. Kamat, Station Fire Officer (Training) compeered the function and Shri R.A. Haldankar, Asst. Divisional Officer, District Fire Station Panaji proposed the Vote of Thanks.
